Glucosamine sulphate occurs naturally within the body and is located in joints. Connective tissue such as tendons, ligaments, cartilage and muscles rely upon a constant supply of glucosamine in order to rebuild and maintain joints.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar sourced from mollusc shells and is then combined with a mineral salt to make tablets. It is advisable to take glucosamine combined with Potassium mineral salt rather than Sodium mineral salt, as the average Western diet contains more than enough sodium, and this might be detrimental to health.

Scientific trials showed that 1500 mg of glucosamine needs to be taken per day to ensure a beneficial effect. This can be divided into 2 or 3 tablets per day, ideally taken with food.

You need to be sure how much of the pure active ingredient (glucosamine sulphate) tablets are providing, not the weight of the whole tablet combined with the mineral salt. In most cases 1000 mg of Glucosamine Sulphate 2kcl provides 750mg of Glucosamine Sulphate pure.
